Brass Waxjack late 18th century.. 5″ high, 3″  circular pierced diameter base, 4″ diameter including handle.   Taper is wrapped around thin shaft..scrolled handle..iron spring between clamp arms.  Very similar to one belonging to the New York Historical Society.  There is also one similar on George Washington’s desk at Mount Vernon.    $395

Ingrain carpet c. 1890… Four runners sewed together to create a 12′ X 13′ rug.  Colors are wine red and pale gray.  The rug can also be turned over depending if you want more red or more gray.. edges are bound.  The rug is in good shape..no stains or odors.
